to Host Be Internet Awesome Family Workshop Sponsored by Google
On Friday, April 3, 2020 Spencer School PTA will host a workshop for parents to explore digital safety and address concerns surrounding how to raise children in a connected world. The event will feature discussion-based, parent-to-parent discussions on topics like password security and safe websites.
Spencer School PTA is one of 200 local PTAs nationwide selected to receive a PTA Connected Be Internet Awesome grant from National PTA and Google. Part of National PTA’s new PTA Connected initiative, Google’s Be Internet Awesome workshop gives parents access to resources, answers to questions about online safety and digital citizenship, information to help facilitate discussions at home, and the tools to create an action plan for the future. All materials provided at the Be Internet Awesome workshop will be available in English and Spanish.

Friday is the last day of the Spencer School fall book fair.
The Spencer School book fair will be open until 7:30pm tonight. Bring the entire family and check out the great books.
The Spencer School book fair is open all week during school hours and parent teacher conferences. Wednesday evening (4:30-7:30pm) will be a book fair open house so bring the entire family.
The Spencer School Book Fair opens for preview on Monday (11/18) and will be open for sales on Tuesday (11/19) through Friday (11/22) during school hours and parent teacher conferences.

Follow up on Traffic concerns – Mr. Henderson has been notified. January inviting board of ed rep to PTA meeting
Ideas for events that have been requested from PTA members: Fitness Event, Movie Event, Trivia Event. Discussion on how to make these things happen. We have regular events and open to anything new! Help is necessary and appreciated.
New Fundraiser idea shared – spice fundraiser, low key, ice cream toppings, The Nutmeg spice company
Recess Carts – physically present at meeting to show PTA members, Plans are in place with gym teacher to fill carts up with new playground toys. She also has a plan to train our kids on how to properly care for the carts and equipment on them. Things like sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, etc…
