Join us for the Health Moves Minds Family Fun Fest

Who:  Spencer School families

What:  A series of fun games and activities to do together as a family that celebrate kindness, mindfulness, respect and teamwork!

When:  Friday, March 25 from 5:30-7 (Raindate – Friday, April 1)

Where:  Spencer School – please note that this is an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly 

Why:  In PE, students have been learning about how kindness and mindfulness can help us take care of our minds and bodies through health moves minds from SHAPE America.  We are finishing our work with this program by celebrating and sharing our learning with families.

Through our participation in health moves minds, we have also had the opportunity to raise funds to support our PTA and also add new equipment to enrich our PE program.

How:  The Family Fun Fest is a free event and all families are invited and welcome!  We will simply be asking all participants to pledge to do an act of kindness for someone to help us to create a ripple of kindness in our community.

Restaurant Night March 15

Please join us on Tuesday, March 15 from 5-9PM for our next restaurant night at Mondo! Spencer School PTA will earn 10% of all proceeds from this fundraiser.

Take out is preferred due to limited seating in the restaurant. Just mention Spencer Elementary PTA when you order over the phone at (860) 343-3300. However, if you do visit the restaurant in person, you can also mention Spencer PTA to support our fundraiser. 10 Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457

Election Day Bake Sale

We are looking for bakers and volunteers for our Election Day Bake Sale on November 2nd. We are hoping to have volunteers available for the majority of the day (voting hours are 6am-8pm) so that we don’t have to close and miss any potential sales. Please click here to sign up as a volunteer.

PTA Fundraiser – Pie and Cookies order now – 10/22

Spencer PTA presents Lyman’s Pies and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies! Every year, your Spencer PTA holds fundraisers to help our teachers with classroom supplies, our library to purchase books and to help with field trip costs among other things with the goal of supporting all the kids at Spencer School. SPENCER PTA President’s Message 2021-22

Dear Spencer parents: 

The PTA executive board and I want to extend our warmest welcome to you and your family for the 2021-2022 school year. I am honored to serve as Spencer PTA’s President for the upcoming year as we adjust to a “new normal” and navigate a safe return to school. This past year has been challenging on many levels, but we are the Spencer Pandas! We can learn, adapt, persevere, and overcome any obstacles thrown our way. Now, more than ever, I want to focus on engaging our families and strengthening our community so that the PTA can continue to support the programs and services at Spencer that enrich our children’s lives.

Spencer has activities and programs that are sponsored by the PTA: We are planning our Boo Bash, restaurant nights, a school dance, game nights and many more. The PTA’s ability to support these programs and many others is possible because of generous donations of time, expertise and funds given by the Spencer teachers, staff, parents and community. I invite you to be a part of the Spencer PTA and get involved.  Spencer is a school like no other, and it relies on support from parents and community members to sustain its enrichment programs that positively impact the lives of all children and families. Thank you for helping in any way you can and showing your children the importance of your place in their education.

I encourage you to attend our monthly PTA meetings, starting with our first meeting on Thursday, October 7th at 6:30pm.

A-Z Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt Contest

The Spencer PTA is hosting a schoolwide A-Z Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt contest. The contest kicks off Monday, March 15th and runs through March 31st. See the flyer below for scavenger hunt challenge questions, instructions, and rules. The winning class will win a fun activity.
